for treasure and yelling abuse at anyone who crosses her path.
Or catch Antha moonlighting at the local Burlesque joint, where she plots to escape her wretched life by running away with the circus. “I have always admired the way street people choose to live outside societies norms, and been intrigued with the way they layer their clothes,” says Steele.
“For them it is a necessity, but I nd their eclectic way of dressing strangely stylish,” she says.
The result is Junkyard - a mish-mash of contrasting tones, textures and sizes that make for clothes able to be pulled together in different ways. Midnight blue tartans, night bloom prints, geometrical printed cotton wools in purples and magenta
alongside sharp black acitate sillouttes form a collection that deconstructs the stylings of sporty streetwear and slouchy comfy and recombines them to satisfy the ever-diverse tastes of fashion
followers.
Even though the mix of colours and patterns is miscellaneous, the garments layer together to form fun and unique combinations that further establishes Steele’s dark, chic, sexy and mysterious signature style.
“Junkyard is an expression of the developments in my creative process, like creating a world of characters, their names, occupations, pastimes and what they wear,” says Steele.
“Consider the collection a dedication to my ubiquitous nutcase inspiration.”
